Senior’s Residences

I feel so sorry for the fellow who lives here , all alone in not one but several residences. This is hardly in keeping with the City’s new infill housing policy, which seeks to increase population density. The sign appeared at least a year ago, so he’s been by himself for a while now. Does he long for companions? He may have a lady friend who would like to join him, but that is clearly against the rules. Only one senior is allowed. So sad!

  1. I often take advantage of "senior's discount" days, and, no matter how late in the day I shop, I always get the discount. This situation puzzles me because only one discount is available, and I always get it. Surely, I think, some canny geezer or old bat must have pipped me at the post, but no! Am I uniquely preferred as a customer, the shop waiting on tenterhooks for me to show up and other ancient claimants being turned away discountless? It seems unlikely. Not being one to peer too closely into the horse's mouth in these inflationary days, I consider it impolitic to ask for an explanation, but I remain baffled.

  2. Yes, indeed! I too know what it’s like to be the only one. For several years I was the sole member of the Manitoba Teacher’s Society.
